X(iao) Y(u) 於晓
Xiao is an immigrant in the Netherlands. She was born in Wuhan, China. Currently based in Rotterdam, she lived and travelled in various places in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
As a “constant” immigrant with academic training in behavioural science, Xiao finds the act of photographing a creative way to connect herself with her surroundings – society and nature. She is especially interested in how nature is embedded and conceptualised in the human world whilst the human world itself is a part of nature.
As an art photographer, Xiao’s photographic work revolves around the self-exploration of the in-betweenness of observer and experiencer.
